These should be agreed before support starts. A change in needs calls for a review of the arrangements.<\/p>\n<h2>Discussing relevant experience<\/h2>\n<p>Experience should match the actual tasks involved. Communication, language skills and the conditions of the assignment also matter. We discuss these points in relation to the support being considered.<\/p>\n<h2>Respect in every conversation<\/h2>\n<p>We listen to older people and those involved in their care. We describe needs without labelling people or taking away their independence.
